Uncle Ike,
Welcome back, I was getting worried. Without your perspective on the market what will I have to keep my "bear" half in check<g>. In any case, my numerous posts here asking "where are you" are ample evidence of my affection for your presence here.
Are you still bullish on oil companies, I would be interested in your opinion.
My foray into gold stocks last week is over for now, good for a quick 12-20%, as I am raising cash for some option plays. I am still in some oil stocks at a small profit, looking to see how soon they will bounce. For oil the predominant thing is how much demand will actually be lost over the next six months or so from any continued world wide recessionary effect. Contrary opinions abound. Otherwise the charts look like the possibility of a bottom having been found. If your bullish forecasts hold true then the demand factor will not be as much of a concern. The other is the winter weather, another mild winter equals continued weakness, a hard winter as we have had twice in the last five years will spell RELIEF for oil.
Finally, I am also interested in your opinions on the Euro implementation over the next few years. As I have noted I like to play gold/silver stocks for their volatility, having some experience with their trading ranges, and the Euro will have an effect on them exceeding the short term. I do not want to take this thread through a metals market analysis, but am curious of your thoughts for the Euros.
Any sites or good info on it would be welcome.
Thanks Ike, take it easy
