Don't forget,
If RECY price to their customers drops, the price from their suppliers drops as well so that margins are somewhat maintained, even if squeezed a bit. So, I 30% price drop on scrap is not as bad in reality. Like wise, expect the converse to be true when prices go up.

I would think that a low scrap price will increase demand from minimills as their costs go down.

Here is a site to keep track of scrap metals prices:

When things get a little better in Asia that should take the oversupply deflationary pressures off the scrap metal prices... You might look for a turnaround in the Asian markets to signal an improvement in scrap prices...
