For those who have access to PC MAG, Oct. 6, 1998 issue. Check out John Dvorak's column on page 86. He mentions Intel's move into handheld devices and their pushing their 1500 StrongArm DSP to capture the handheld market and bounce Motorola's DSP (DragonBall) out of the market. Mot's. DSP now powers the Pilot by 3 Com. I visualize that Intel will displace Mot.. The article also discusses the PDA market's disenchantment with Windows CE because of Microsoft's predatory stance. Now wouldn't we all like to see a better OS for PDA's etc.. Just happen to believe Intel has examined and licensed ours. What a coincidence.

Always have to pinch myself as a reminder that Intel is really in the chip business, at least up till now. Their StrongArm 1500 DSP runs at 300 mhz., is a low power consumer, and the article mentions it operates a decode for MPEG2 and a modem simultaneously. That's impressive.

The AHIMA show is only about 2 weeks away. No articles/releases by Lanier as of yet.

Best to all:
