Thean, we rallied for a few hours, not even a full day? Don't get all carried away? I've been short since July and still am. I think you'll find the buy and hold method is much more profitable unless you are God and know every turn and twist the mkt will make so you can time it. My guess is you aren't he and neither am I. Good luck w/ the guessing game trying to figure out where this rally will fizzle. My guess is you have a day.. max, but I'm just guessing?

I hope NKE goes to 29 15/16 so you can squeeze out that 1/4 in the puts after commissions and bid/ask spread take their bite. (G)

Thean,
When I first heard about Gateway's Your:)Ware program I thought it would be fantastic. Then, when I looked into it I thought it was probably just a gimmick. What do you think wholesale on a 2 to 4 year old PC is? Subtract shipping cost from that and it may cost more to trade in your old PC than to just throw it away. I suspect the better deal will be to donate it to your favorite charity and take the tax right off at retail.
Both Gateway and Dell have 30 day money back guarantees. Those can often be turned into price protection refunds but you ought to check with them to see if that's possible. I think they had such a deal when I bought mine. And don't forget to check out LT's favorite: micronpc.com <g> They have an inside line on RAM, you know :-)
I suppose the buis is cut throat enough for it to change daily, but I thought Gateway was beating Dell by a few bucks lately, albeit hardly enough to matter. Dell has a nice selection of refurbs right now though, "lots" of 400's and even a couple 450's.
By the way, I'd call instead of ordering on-line. When I bought this old Gateway I just hemmed and hawed a little and got a few nice upgrades tossed in for no charge to close the deal. Margins were a bit higher then, still you might be able to save a few bucks and/or find out about a better refurb deal than what you see on-line.

P.S. I looked a bit more into NORT too. Sorry I brought it up. I suppose there could be a quick 50% or double there, like any penny, but it's way too risky for me. According to one source, they own 16 land rigs.
