Thanks Sean, Peter, and Wayne for your help. Turns out all it needed is a _second_ reboot (??) to get direct download enabled. As my very charming 61 year old computer-newbie father is fond of saying, "ah, the mysteries of the computer!"

Now, with a little fussing, I have it working. Pretty slick, too! Now I have to spend some time playing with it. (Advice and experiences welcomed, BTW.)

A few troubles getting my money 98 data converted. (At first it didn't think I had the appropriate permissions, even though I boot up in NT under "Administrator." Weird. Had to unpack the file from another machine on my network.) But now, everything works great. Not to bad, by software standards. ;)

Thanks too, Peter, for the tech support experiences. glad to hear they were helpful--the popup message that comes up in 99 saying that most non-install related questions require a 900 number call didn't inspire confidence. :)

Regards to all,

Dave
