Creative Voodoo Banshee at $99 after rebate... This will really put a crimp on any retail sales of any TNT board. The best I've seen TNT's is for $150 for the OEM versions.

Still, all this does is make it so both TDFX and nvidia don't make any money. If I was Ballard, I'd think about trying to acquire nvidia and become the next ATI. This industry has to consolidate if it wants to make money. Both TDFX and nvidia have to see this, just like Seagate and Conner had to see it two disk drive cycles ago.

Furthermore, my guess it that Banshee is too late to make it into the Christmas PC's of Compaq and other retailers and that nvidia has given away TNT for free to Dell and Gateway. I'm still bearish on TDFX, though I would definitely not short it.

I think this is dead money until December - January, when we get some new money flowing in general terms with mutual fund contributions and specific terms as far as tax loss season being over.

Mr. Ballard, please do what you can to stop the bleeding in the industry. If you do your part, both TDFX and the industry can grow again.

Matt

Sun if you want something to short, I'm sure STB will take a beating tomorrow. They have a lot invested in Nvidia.

Thanks for the advice. It will certainly be interesting to see what happens to STBI tomorrow. Jeff, what do you think? Are you still long STBI and if so are you going to dump it in the morning? Did you listen to me when I told you to put a stop loss at 7-7/8?

Patrick, "Sun if you want something to short, I'm sure STB will take a beating tomorrow.
They have a lot invested in Nvidia."

It seems that we now have a suitable explanation for the sell off of the last few days in STBI...remember, us little guys don't know anything until it's too late. So it would seem the big guys who wanted out got out, and the little guy either had their stops taken out already or are in for a longer term. I still dig STBI. Linked to CPQ DELL and GTW in a big way.

It seemed that the selloff was due to somebody who knew something that we didn't. Turns out that that is a likely situation, with that "thing" being the lawsuit. No biggie. Beats the hell out of announcing that they have lost Dell...
