MORN'N ALL

I'm ready for the big day today! This is from Barfing Scum (they say that resistance is at $32 13/16---Hopefully we will at least test that today):

<<<Brief: As noted in general commentary above, Cabletron Systems (CS) posted earnings of $0.09 v. year-ago gain of $0.36... But 75% drop in profits will take back seat to fact that company beat estimates by one to two cents, at least for short-term as the earnings game is all about expectations... Second straight quarterly profit, no matter how small, likely to be seen as positive in that company headed back in right direction... Must show that it can grow top line (flat again this quarter) before stock will sustain an up move, but for today look for additional gains... 3Com (COMS) due up today... Consensus calls for gain of $0.20 to $0.21... Company will have to beat this number and make positive forward looking comments or recent gains will be in jeopardy... Stock rose 1 5/8 yesterday and is up 38.6% this month alone... Expectations of a decent report and takeover speculation have fuelled the gains... COMS testing crucial resistance at 32 13/16 (top of 4-month range)... Break of this ceiling on good earnings news would leave stock positioned for near- to intermediate-term test of 40 area... Elsewhere Ascend (ASND), Fore (FORE) and Xircom (XIRC) all up on takeover speculation...>>>>>>>

Regards
Brad
