Their consultant's report, available at their website, estimates that they have 12 million tons of total heavy minerals in the ground at their site in TN, most of it TiO2. Someone told me that TiO2, used as a paint pigment, goes for about $1 a pound wholesale to the paint manufacturers. Getting it out of the ground and purified for less than that cost is the problem. There are millions of ounces of gold still in the ground in South Africa. Unfortunately for them most of it can't be mined profitably given the current price of gold.
