Larry - Re: AMD K6 300 MHz for NoteBooks

The K6 300 has been available for 3 or 4 months and has been used in notebook PCs for several months. It DOES NOT EVEN HAVE the 3DNOW instructions.

AMD may have tweaked the design slightly to reduce power, but I haven't yet seen any details.

AMD' press release quoted typical power consumption at 6.6 watts - but failed to specify the maximum power.

It's just the same K6-300 that's been around for 4 months or so.

I think AMD's product development portfolio is running dry and they needed something to announce quickly to maintain Media Visibility.
