HAMBURG (Reuters) - Germans are having less sex and doing it faster, according to a survey published on Tuesday by the condom manufacturer Durex. The survey found that German men and women had on average of 112 sexual contacts in 1997, down from 129 in 1996, the company said. The average amount of time for each contact fell to 17.2 minutes from 18.9. The survey also reported France won the world championship not only in soccer in 1998, but in sex frequency in 1997. The French had the highest rate in 1997 at 141, but that had also declined from 151. The least active were found in Hong Kong, where the average fell to 57 per year from 77. The speed was greatest in Thailand, where 10.4 minutes were spent per contact while the Americans spent the longest time -- on average 28.1 minutes in 1997, up from 25.3 minutes in 1996.
