The point of financial statements (and SEC requirement) is to give shareholders a historical look at company performance, summarized by year. If they made Sept 30 the new fiscal year, possibly they could publish that one year period.

With all the changes it would still be difficult to project any future profitability. But one could assess from the balance sheet any financial distress and review the audit comments regarding a "going concern".
