I have 4 trading acounts, the worst is my old brokerage firm, what do you do when you want to get thru and he is on early lunch or vacation and no one else can answer questions. Or if he is on the phone with 6 other clients? That is why I went online a couple of years ago. I am so dam happy to be able to do my own thing. I have had problems with Etrade, Web St. and Ameritrade. But I can see when someone can save a couple of hundred bucks per trade why they are moving to do their own thing. Ameritrade offering one of the lowest attractive rates has a good system for trading and display. Their only problem is they are overwhelmed with business. That is a nice problem to have and they will solve it just like AOL did. But now is the time to acquire market share....... I try and place my orders prior to opening and I try to work with stops,limits etc. When I need to get in pronto and there is a jam up, I hit the phone and have not had to wait over 4 min except in the Oct dump out and everyone waited then. I dont see any problem with voicing a concern, but an email to the company is much more effective and it leaves this thread for discussion of funamental and tech analysis , market positioning, option hedges etc. We have our own problem and that is to be as professional as non-professionals can be. It is only in this way can we be of true value to each other and prove that people can manage their own investments in this new age.
