Even with some price recover in small cap Y2K's I am seeing a trend in lack of contract announcements due to Clients not wishing information be revealed. Excellent post borrowed from PTUS board about this subject. >>>The bill you are talking about is really nothing but CYA for the government. The problem was that everyone knew that the government would be blamed when the proverbial sh*t hit the fan regarding Y2K. The bill is far too late to do much good for what it's supposed intent is. The politicians want to be able to say that they tried to get the companies to tell us how bad things are. I really don't see it making it easier for clients to let companies like PTUS announce when they get contracts. The problem at this point is that when PTUS announces they have a contract, they are announcing that their client was so ill prepared for Y2K that they just NOW have hired PTUS for help. Even if legal ramifications are removed, the potential bad publicity could hurt their ability to get new clients or hang onto those that they already have. We've discussed the same thing at my company. (I'm the VP of Info Systems)Even though legal beagles have told us that the bill may protect us from lawsuits if we fully disclose our current progress, the marketing department screams that the only thing it will do is hurt us. Although we are essentially done with our Y2K work (all revised code is running live), there's always the possibility that something was missed somewhere. It's that fear factor at work. The most recent 10-Q contains a sample contract from Peritus. I believe it is their way of telling investors that they cannot disclose any contracts unless the client agrees to it. Here is an interesting paragraph: "Peritus shall not, without CLIENT's prior written consent, engage in advertising, promotion or publicity related to this Agreement, or make public use of any identification in any circumstances related to this Agreement, except as may be required to comply with law, court order administrative order or government regulation" So you see, just because some bill is passed, doesn't mean that you're going to start seeing contract announcements. That paragraph is in there for a reason - clients demand it for work such as this. <<<<<
