There is of course a secondary effect to the growth of Xeon chips, and that is less business for Unix based systems of which Sun is one purveyor. Thus, it should not come as a surprise that LSI's Sun computer business is falling. The decline in Sun's business was one of the reasons Erica Klauer cited in her downgrade of LSI. However, she ignored the concomitant growth in Xeon sales, which growth will clearly outstrip the loss of Sun's business.
