I wonder how SIEMENS is doing in light of Alcatel's warning.
Alcatel reported slow down in sales, but it's because they
relied to much on Russia and E.Asia (at least that's their
excuse).

I would think that SIEMENS wouldn't be in the same situation,
but I'm looking to verify this.

I interpret the statement above as COMS wanting to have a presence
in the backbone area. Some of COMS critics might reply,
"how can a modem company producing mostly commodity items be
involved in the backbone area". I guess they will learn when
it hits them in the face.
