George,

The CPQ relationship mentioned is probably with the former DEC side as the various pieces go their separate ways...

George: I vaguely remember that when CS bought DEC's networking Div, there was some contractual commitment for DEC to sell X Dollars worth of the Networking line for Y years. When CPQ took over DEC that liability apparently passed to CPQ.

May be the concern now is whether CPQ is going to honor that commitment.

Perhaps someone who has all the links will be able to give you the exact details.

the analyst I believe was referring to the lack of conviction CB gave regarding the 1bb that cpq is commited to over the next three years. he said that this qtr only had 2 of the 3 months when the contract was ion effect and he wouldn't give any indication what type of orders they had given, though it sounded as if they were negligable. He also said the dec folks and the cpq folks were consummed with their acquistion and couldn't stay focused on CS long enough for them to get their attention. while they have the 1bb contract, I think the dlj analyst isn't willing to bank on thosae revenues. Definitey not a likelihood of much upside to those numbers......all this commentary is my take on the conference call as it relates to the dlj notes.
