<<OEMs would be glad to buy AMD products below cost.>>

Keep on dreaming. OEMs are smarter than you. They realized that AMD must make money in order to stay alive. To buy at below cost would meant bad news for 2nd source. OEMs ain't going to let AMD go belly up. Cyrix/NSM is currently not in the position to challenge Intel. They have yet to migrate completely to 0.25um, to introduce a 3DNOW chips, increase the volume and customers, and to increase the MHz. AMD has satisfied all of the above criteria. Furthermore the K7 to be introduced next month will put Intel PII and their derivatives (Dixons, Katmai, Coppermine, etc.) in the back seat.

<<Who just announced higher than expected revenue for Q3?>>

Who will report higher % revenue increase from Q3 to Q2? It ain't Intel.

Elmer,
RE:"OEMs would be glad to buy AMD products below cost."

What is "cost" and how would YOU figure that?
