Oriole Systems: Y2K Conversion for Ontario Government
Ministries

TORONTO, ONTARIO--Oriole Systems Inc. (VSE-OOL), announced today
that its subsidiary, DYAD Systems Inc. has successfully completed
the year 2000 compliance conversion for its PowerTouch Financial
Information software being used by the Ontario Ministry of
Culture, Citizenship and Recreation.

Ontario had given its ministries a mandate to be Y2K compliant by
the next fiscal period, beginning March, 1999. Customized code had
to be merged and adapted to interface with Treasury Board
computers. DYAD's target date to accomplish this conversion was
September 14; delivery was within budget and ahead of schedule.

According to a Ministry official, "The conversion was successful
and is now up and running".

DYAD is in the process of facilitating a similar conversion for
the Ministry of Environment and Energy and the Ministry of Science
and Technology. Dino Dervic, DYAD's Senior Programmer does not
anticipate any problems in exceeding Ministry expectations for
another on-time, on-budget outcome.

James Staring, DYAD's Project Manager stated: "The much talked
about Year 2000 problem is one of the most costly and difficult
challenges facing governments and industry the world over. Over a
year ago, we began informing our clients about tools we had
created to make all their products Y2K compliant. We commend the
Ministry of Culture, Citizenship and Recreation and Ministries of
Environment and Energy and Science and Technology, for their
foresight in moving ahead to put this potentially serious problem
behind them."

Oriole Systems Inc. through its subsidiaries is a provider of
innovative software and support services to government and private
business in Canada and the U.S., through offices in Vancouver,
