Enigma I agree with you. If the governments inflate us out of the mess obviously gold and gold stocks do well, very well. With deflation you will have low interest rates, low cost of carrying gold, and it is insurance. Can u trust the governments. They are all perfidious at some time or another. They will inflate after the deflation. Whether it is 3 mos 1 yr or 3 yrs I can wait.

Enigma-Gold in deflationary times. Gold will go to the moon when faith is lost in other competing investments. In the mean, time gold accurately coalesces all the variables of the day for as precise a value benchmark as is available. Emotion is one of those variables. To obtain gold price increase in deflationary times the emotion variable must ratchet over into the panic zone. Gold pricing will trend along with inflation and deflation until the emotion variable is magnified to the place where it overcomes the collective thrust of the other variables. I enjoy this thread because of the intellectual ambidextrousness of the participants. Please don't kick me out.
