[We're a group of smart people with aggressive opinions about everything, so why not take the opportunity to debate this?]

Including an obligatory MSFT-relevant comment or link in each post avoids this problem. Notice nobody objected until there were a series of posts with zero tie-in to MSFT investing. I, for one, don't mind the occasional off-topic post, but drifting further and further off-topic gets annoying.

MSFT back to 90% of all-time high. Not bad given the problems in overseas markets.

> But Eric, the DOJ/Microsoft trial has been put off a month, the market is going nowhere, nothings coming out about the Sun/Microsoft trial... I mean, what's the point? We're a group of smart people with aggressive opinions about everything, so why not take the opportunity to debate this?

Apparently you have much more free time than I do. I barely have time to read the ON-topic posts.

If I wanted to discuss Clinton, I'd go to an appropriate thread to avoid bothering the people here who might not be interested. In my opinion, that's the polite thing to do.

To those with off-topic stuff, might I suggest you put <<OT>> in the first line of the post, so those of us who come back and see a list of 50 or 60 new posts can skip those if we're in a hurry?

Would be appreciated.
