Ratan, re:BMI, DBC

Currently, I'm using Signal (also of DBC) and experiencing no data difficulties with OPRA, NYSE, etc -- knock on wood. I switched from BMI for several reasons, not the least of which... feed problems; as I understand it, BMI acquires data second- (er, third) hand whereas Signal is more directly tied. (Also, I'm somewhat hostage to 3rd-party software which seems to integrate most tightly with Signal.)

One problem with cable-based Signal is that if/when the signal degrades, fine tune can take up to 15 minutes; in my experience, this is an infrequent event. Since I'm using a sub-band of American Movie Classics (AMC), I suspect that the trouble only occurs during WWII movies. <g>

Alan
