Jorge: AMD chips are mostly geared towards low end PCs where as DELL is focusing on higher end products,that is the main reason I suspect.

If you've been reading the threads for any length of time, and if you have an idea on which posters are the high powered PC GEEKS, then you may have seen some comments that AMD chips aren't quite up to snuff. LOL - like any of us normal user's could tell? I don't know, but from a strictly business standpoint there are also plenty of solid arguments against AMD. These comments were read approximately 6 months or so ago and mostly concerned the K6 chip so to get the real story, you will have to do your own digging.
