Huh? Mike remember when Voodoo2 was selling for $300? When Voodoo1 first came out everyone said that it would be too expensive to sell. If you create something truly incredible you could easily get $500. This would be especially true if the console was faster than your home PC due to the specialized hardware.

Or, why not
have an entirely Internet based gaming platform (no cdrom)?

Wasn't there a message quite a while ago about 3dfx teaming up with National to integrate their technology with a Cyrix CPU? One of the projects supposed to happen in 1999. If this was the case then maybe this could serve as the basis for a console like system.
