I fully understand that the applications are to determine demand. And I also understand that the Government is looking like they are in control of this building program. What I take away from that article is that whatever is going to be done with regard to these 10,000 houses, that there will 1) be some kind of preference given to locals, and specifically those living in Belize City as part of their investment in the infrastructure and renovation of that city 2) that the 6,000 mortgages earlier claimed about to be done by PRWT is wildly outrageous, and 3) since preference is being given to locals, Affordable Housing's effort for Belizeans living outside the country will not only be likely given a lower priority, but also is likely to be a small percentage of the 10,000 goal.

But once again blast me for my presumed negativity. By all means dismiss me and do not by any means address the facts that stand right in front of your noses.

Remember this is a country of 220,000 people. What do you suppose the available housing stock is in any event - 100,000 homes, if that? If PRWT is not capturing the lion's share of these 10,000 new homes, expecting that there will be an additional 6,000 homes built through PRWT's efforts is wildly optimistic. Yet that Press Release still stands uncorrected.
