Win95 can allow one process to step all over another.
Not quite right - Win3.1 had some protected mode holes, but Win95 runs real/protected just like NT. I think you are referring to pre-emptive multitasking and virtual memory, which NT has and Win9X does not... but there are many other differences. Win9X is just not a big-time OS, and is quite correctly going into the dustbin of history.
