This comes from Aix en Provence, Steve - enlighted by Bordeaux

Nice story - dreaming in "XXX" - I dream in "XXX" too rarely. It's interesting to consider the roots of terms in diffent languages.

A french girl "fait l'amour", you in US just "have sex" while Germans "lieben sich". Les francais (sorry, cannot find a cedille) "prend" all things - f.e. a "diner". Germans "nehmen" - if ever - "eine Frau" - but they just "essen zu Abend" (eat at night). A diner is in German a "Abendessen".

Years ago we "had" a diner in French - a lot of cars in front of a good looking restaurant. It was INCREDIBLE expensive - and also bad. While we picked in our salt-fish we looked around in the restaurant and saw a lot of Frenchs eating the same "speciality of the day".

At this time I learned that a diner means for French people "atmosphere", not necessarely "good" or even outstanding kitchen. No doubt, you CAN find good restaurants in French - but possibly it's a little bit harder than f.e. in Spain or Italy.

Our 3 or 4 ownings are stored in a room of a good friends company. (He's checking SI sometimes and therefor I'm polite <g>) Month for month we learn that more and more of our goods is losing worth for us. I think when we some day have a new home somewhere, a lot of this stuff will go the last way.

This is a stock-thread? OK, this was a wonderful day. While I drove along the French coast, my portfolio increased more than 9%. (of course I'm far away from my old hights...)

So far about stocks. Tomorrow we walk through the town of C‚zanne - or better, through that was is staying on the place of his town.

Happy trading!
