>>But, the United States of America is a civilized nation - and there are laws that try to protect defenseless, poor, uneducated, and powerless citizens from the abuse of power from important officials.<< While I agree with the sentiment of your post, you may be getting carried away by partiotism here. -OJ simpson did get away, didn't he? -after airing the tapes yesterday, all the news media polls uniformly indicated that a majority of people do not want Clinton impeached or resign -considering that a woman was at the receiving end of the abuse (or mistreatment or what have you), I am surpised by the number of women who have shown their support for clinton when interviewd on TV; almost makes me wonder why the media does not also print their phone numbers on the screen :-) sorry could not resist! -if clinton gets away from this scandal without impeachment or resignation, will you still be singing the same song about being civilized etc when the next one hits?
