e-mail: RON and HAL..Puts on downgrades... Usually when I hear of a major downgrade before the open as I did today on CNBC for RON, I don't plan to short or buy puts on the same stock, it's futile.. Best thing is to buy a 'leader' in the same sector because they usually go down in sympathy. It doesn't always work, but then I only do it with very select sectors like large banks (CCI), the airlines (ALK), and oil service (HAL) and the semis (VTSS, MXIM)... HAL reacted very well today as I 'bagged' the puts right near the open
