Dave the fact is obvious that qcom is not failing. Having created markets in InDIA, BRAZIL,MEXICO,USA,CHINA,LA,RUSSIA they are not going the way of batamax. The GSM might be in the lead but CDMA has been accepted as 3G. If AMD technology was pronounced as the future of all computing architecture you better believe I would buy it over INTEL! Again you are comparing a mature company that has limited ability to expand revenue or Margins against a company that has only oppourtunity
in front of it. If Qualcomm executes well,in 10 years Nokia wont be that much larger then Qcom. You are also comparing companies that did not have proprietary Technology that was reveled as the best and the future standard. I don't care if you like Qcom or not, but as an investment Nokia is fully valued. If you compare it to MOT and ErICY its not a buy. I feel that is because they have to execute perfectly. One mistake and kaplunk! Do you think ERICY isn't going to come out with better products. Do you think Motorola's startac GSM wont steal sales from NOKIA? You are a fool if you think that this environment will remain in a goldilocks era for NOKIA. On top of everything else GSM/TDMA have become comoditized and their margins are shrinking. That is why CDMA is so important to the bottom line. Oh yah the Nokia CDMA has been pulled of BAM, and Air Touch because of quality glitch. I wonder what that will do along with the 30% decline in sales in China due to the flood. I wonder if that's why Erickson and nokia are down?
The 6160 is a great GREAT phone. Nokia has won a battle the war is a marathon!
