Goldsnow - thanks for that article - which I think sums up the paradox beautifully. The people aren't fools even though it is convenient ot say so. So as this dreary business trudges on I wonder if there won't be some surprises? Starr is investigating Tripp for possible tampering with evidence (tapes) Starr's office is being investigated for improper conduct. The media has barely turned its attention onto Starr's connections and motivations - not just applying for the job as IC after the first choice was fired, but earlier representing the tobacco lobby, offering to represent Paula Jone against Clinton, his connections with Pepperdine. And apart from the alleged leaking of evidence from his office, who knows what improper conduct may have occured between Starr's office and the Paula Jones lawyers. So they caught him in a lie, but as the article points out the ironies abound. Clinton displayed terrible judgement with Monica and in the aftermath - there is no question of that. There is much to hang your hat on here depending on your poliitcal persuasion. In the meantime Rome is burning. E
