SMS stands for text messages tell your salesman to give you a copy copy of nexnote plus.It cost 40 but they should give it to you for free for your pain and suffering.I like this feature because it also keeps a log that you can look up to see when the unit received the message and the content of the message.You do have to pay $5 per unit and 5 cents a message but it awesome when you don't have coverage.If they don't send you the disc let me know.I will get you one but I don't want to give my name and # on this board.I will bring to zephr cove on my next trip.SERIOSLY they should give the program.Your friends without a computer could also call 1-800-639-gram give your name the operator will type you a mssg that cost more money though.I think thats about .50 mssg Good luck Rick
