i've said, and i'll repeat, everyone believes the turn in dram is right around the corner. this breeds the,"if i can just tough it out" mentality.

dram won't turn until people stop being so optimistic about the short term future. this, and only this, is necessary for people to make the tough decisions. shutting a 4 mb fab that is outdated is not a tough decision. this continues to portend bad news.

how can industry professionals be so wrong? that is their history. why did mu build a white elephant that has never been 5% useful? why did everyone say 1998 was going to be bust up year in mid 1997?

they guess and they always lean to the side of their self interest. to mu, there is no leaning as there i no other side ;-)

more bad news posing as good news. just like what we've seen all year long.
