I was raised Methodist. It's a fairly indepenant crowd. There isn't the push to adhere to a set criteria that there is in some churches. It's a mellow church for the most part. A childhood friend of mine became one the first women ministers and has a wonderful church, and her husband does a great job with the kids. <g>

I said I ATTEND a methodist church. They have an excellent pastor. As far as saying that certain churches make statements that so and so church members/attendees are not real christians, I have no experience with this type of activity. The methodist church I attend espouses the same Jesus Christ that the previous church I attended does. Christ is the first thing in the churches I have attended.( I guess I was sick when they had the lesson on who was or was not the real christians). I am sorry you have had so many negative experiences. It sounds like you are trying to find a church to attend. This may set someone off, but I will pray for you. Don't be mad, this is a good thing.
