Re eBAY fees.--My friend and some other people he knows had started to make ebay their vocation after intial sucesses early in the year. However after listing with min $ and no reserves and not getting a single bid for items that have prviously sold, have begun to seek other boards to depose of the merchandice < some of it is stock certificates starting with no min. Pan AM,and other well known cos.>
The listing fees for these PROFESSIONALS has gotten to be too much if you have no bidders <probaly due to the economy and vacations>
I have sold Fortune Mags from the 30s and 40s but pulled my horns in when I saw the bids go in 1/2, $20 items going for $5 and $10 or no bids.----A new problem occured with the policy for recharging fees . for listing of unsold items. The fees can mount up-The $150 he was charged for listing in Aug was too much for that small timer.EBAY appeals to this type of seller. Small priced items for the most part, thus small buyers. An exception that i am invovled with is the unused Big Mack home run tickets i have been listing lately-People are paying$$$$$. I expect the issue to go up a little and fall back in a week after settlement when the intial people take their profits when it slows up.<FLIPPERS AND FREE RIDERS> I plan to buy than and keep my fingers crossed that they address some of the issues that are letting competters in the door. My reference to Prodigy and AOL
