If I recall correctly the TRIN gave a sell signal when the 5-day TRIN got below 4 last week, and the market sold off strong only one day. I think that was last THUR. Correct me if Im wrong.

You are correct. The 5-day TRIN was 3.867 (Below 4 is sell signal) on Wednesday. You know what happened Thursday.

Other observations: Charting 101---The S&P is showing a classic rising bear flag pattern on lower volume during its development, which implies a continuation to the downside because it is occuring in a down-trending market. The Dow is more like a rising wedge with same expected results. A blowout above 8200ish might invalidate that pattern. Such happens sometimes in a crazy market.
