skeeter, Now that's good start. Keep going. Yes, LG is Lucky Goldstar. However you got LG Elect USA, not LG Sem. LG Elect USA basically makes Computer monitors, Bread Makers etc. The Name LG comes from Lucky + Gold Star. Lucky used to make Tooth paste from a small factory not far from my house in Korea. (The owner and my dad used to have picnics twice a year when I was a little kid.) Gold Star was the biggest consumer elec compay which makes refrigerator, TV, VCR and etc before they merged. So basically, LGE USA is the legacy of GoldStar's old business: Refriferators, Flat TV, DVD ROM Drive and etc. Get information about semi subs. later, InSook
