Re: "Exactly who put him in that position?" His political opponents, through their funding of the Paula Jones lawsuit. I also have serious concerns about the wisdom of allowing a president to be sued while in office, over things which happened so long before he was elected, and I think we need new legislation on that, to protect all future presidents. As for the Iraqis, I doubt if they would have bought the tapes, because I don't think they would have guessed in a million years that we would make the president's sex life the number one national priority.
