IMF now trying to screw around with India.

JPR:
I don't know much about ASDL service, but I do belive cable will be thing to watch for.I can get a cable connection here for $39.50/month and it is x150 faster than regular modem connection but right now the cable modem cost about 300 bucks.Soon this will change as there was an announcement the other day by a company called Broad..something that they have this product-a single chip solution as opposed to the 3chips it takes now-to reduce the cost of cable modems. They are predicting by 2000 over 25% of all internet connections will be via cable,I am sure watching the video clips will be faster as well via cable.

Also you know MSFT is heavily invested in cable along with ATT with the purchase of TCA,you know what that means right???

You are right about ADSL. Unfortumately the phoen cos. that own the cable are moving slow to install ADSL and are making it difficult for anyone to lease the copper for ADSL.

ADSL is available in some areas on an experimental basis. But the tarrifs are complicated and bandwidth dependant. At the moment ADSL is more expensive than Cable. And it looks like cable will have a lead which will be difficult to overcome.

PAIRgain tech which has ADSL and in which I have invested in the past is now a fallen angel going from some 60+ to 11 and all interest seems to have vanished.

Another co. that has the patents on ADSL was acquired by TXN. No idea what they are doing with that chipset.
