Gary, gotta run, but "But if you have a microwave why would you buy a toaster oven?" You're obviously not a chef!!!!

Not only do I have a microwave, I have a conventional oven, a toaster/convection oven, a smoker and a barbeque with a rotisserie.

Ain't consumerism grand!

What a country.

Later . . .

Mr. K.

Gary,..Re:But if you have a microwave why would you buy a toaster oven?

Different functions. LOL - do you cook any? (make toast in the microwave?) <VBG> The problem we're all having with your arguments is that Dell doesn't target the consumer, and your view of the future market is based on 1998 technology. We know technology is going to evolve and we also know that Dell is adept when it comes to discovering opportunities. Wish I could help you more but I have trouble understanding your questions.

You must live alone ! Between the cable, the DirecTV dish, VCR and DVD devices, our family has enough trouble agreeing on what shows watch and where....now we want to add another option to the TV. I don't think so !

As well, PC usage is a far more personal activity while TV viewing is a group entertainment pastime. Wouldn't my daughters love to share their e-mail with the family. Likewise, it would be strange to watch a movie by yourself on a PC...kind of like drinking alone ! It might appeal to some people, but definitely not the majority under the bell curve.

In answer to your last question.....toast, bagels, reheating pizza, hor d'oeuvres...ad infinitum.

regards,

WBC
