Maxwell,>>>Mobile demand is low compared to desktop because it is expensive.<<<

IMO mobile units will always be more expensive than desktop units and it's appeal will always be stronger in the more affluent market.

My guess, is that marketing in the more affluent market is a lot different than marketing in the low end bargain hunting population - for the rich and the elite, they are different than you (I'm guessing) and me (for sure).

The people rushing to the rent a car agency with the canopy at the airport will pay a few dollars more for the real thing.

Reminds me of the Wall Street character in Tom Wolfe's novel who would rather die than move into a million dollar apartment after being used to living in multimillion dollar digs.

I doubt Intel will be caught off guard in this market the way they were surprised in the sub $1k desktop market.

If, however, the cheap mobile market were to take off, Intel will respond very quickly - my guess.

Mary
