Cheryl, I would definitely classify SI as more "respectable" than Yahoo! I think that they taking posting more seriously than Yahoo and they put in the time and effort to try to maintain a quality product. On Yahoo! it appears that almost anything goes, and an individual or small group can easily manipulate the system, adding, subtracting, and changing handles at a virtually limitless pace.

However, I suspect that sooner or later things will calm down over there because of law suits against posters or Yahoo itself. Yesterday, thestreet.com did an article on anonymous posting and they cited several law suits and noted that Yahoo, like other boards will identify posters when presented with a subpeona.

Meanwhile, things over there are somewhat out of control, but you would be surprised at who actually reads the Yahoo posts. My experience has been that a remarkable number of Biotech and Pharmaceutical employees read those boards, even though most do not actively participate in posting.
