You will always be able to find exceptions to any generalization. However, that doesn't make the generalization less valid.

OK fair enough, but if the RR is going to generalize on these issues, then those left off of the sweeping generalization are going to protest correct? And remember this is a party platform. So, all the exceptions to the generalization - working women, gays, pro-choice people, etc - cannot support the party. So, why does anybody bother to argue with me about this topic? Seems like a self fulfilling prophecy to me.

Yes here we also agree. But there is force and legislation pending on both sides of these family values issues. In general though, I feel that the legislation coming from the left is somehow less threatening... although that may be a recent thing. To use an example, are liberals so opposed to home schooling that they pass laws against it? My sense is they dont really care? Otoh this prayer in school issue that the right backs... talk about a legislative push, give me a break. Maybe its just my bias, I can accept that, but to me the right is infringing on me much more than I am infringing on them.
