NVIDIA Will Vigorously Defend Itself in Recent Nuisance Lawsuit

SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 23, 1998--NVIDIA(tm) Corporation announced today that it has received a copy of a
press release alleging that 3Dfx has filed patent infringement lawsuit against NVIDIA in the U.S. District Court in Northern California.

The release by 3Dfx claims that NVIDIA is using a patented multi-texturing technology in its RIVA TNT(tm) product, the world's fastest graphics processor(1). NVIDIA, a leading 3D graphic processor company for the mainstream PC market, has yet to be served with a
formal complaint.

"In light of recent admissions by 3Dfx, we can only speculate that they are turning to legal remedies in an attempt to stay profitable,
rather than addressing their core market issues of channel saturation for older products and uncertain demand for their latest
product," said Jen-Hsun Huang, president and CEO of NVIDIA.

"While we have not yet been served with the complaint, NVIDIA has examined the patent and believes there is no infringement by the
RIVA TNT. NVIDIA intends to defend itself against this nuisance litigation."
