the ADSL deal is powerful. ADSL runs internet traffic at about 150 to 500 times faster than current modem technology (speed depends on service connectivity - cable, tf, copper or light). it allows real-time video (clear TV pictures) access due to increased bandwidth available to ADSL. ADSL changes the internet from quaint to saint: able to handle ALL communication, including long distance calling, without intermittent interruptions. the desktop computer does it all with ADSL (including running movies through the internet, i.e., download a movie through the disney site)

<<Users will also be able to sign up for high-speed access through SBC's (NYSE:SBC) ADSL technology. That service will initially be available in Texas and California by early next year.>>

ADSL access is currently available in many areas through GTE and other carriers. cable is also getting into the game
