Only my opinion, but it seems likely to me from what i heard that greenspan will lower rates by .25 which will be a disappointment to the market and cause a minor sell-off. As for the rally, it seems real to me as whilst the DJ index may show a massive gain, the gain to the market in real terms of all stocks was much greater ... and this has been occuring for the last few days. It reminds me of the beginning of the year when it was the retail investor who drove the prices up and made the fund managers get into the market even though they knew this economic mess was coming around later in the year. Whether the sentiment can continue is questionable, but the tide has turned, and bad earnings, impeachment, deflation here there or anywhere will not stop the short/intermediate rise. The market reacts to news ... not ongoing events (the short-attention syndrome) so unless theres a new event in a new place ....... you get the idea.

As a footnote, i will say that all these calls that the mess is built into the market is totally ridiculous given valuations .... I guess thats why the small/mediums have started to lead the way

Good luck
