The problem as I see it Michelle is the issue of turnout in Nov.

I agree that not many inclined to vote democratic in Nov. will now switch to Republican. If anything, I would expect more of the reverse, now.

And that would matter a lot in a Presidential campaign year.

The trouble is that in this sort of off year turn out is key. You can bet the Republicans will get MUCH higher turnout from RR's and other hard righters than they would have otherwise.

Will the Democrats get a corresponding, and offsetting, or even exceeding turn out. One would ordinarily expect not.

I'm not so sure actually. It could happen. But it runs against the expections of the pros, from all I can see. The consultants that handicap these things for a living.

The elections will be big. If the Republicans make gains, they will be emboldened to the extent that they have made gains. I'm hoping they at least get a little bloodied and maybe they drop this impeachment nonsense and we get on with the business of the nation.
