Mauro;

re: << However, what strikes me is that there still something fishy here.>>

Me too. Why would ATI choose to announce this month-old news today?

Perhaps they want to give the stock a boost or perhaps they try to issue something every so often just to 'stay in the public's eye' which is the PR policy of many companies especially in the tech sector. My guess is probably the former. Why?

The stock WAS at support levels and under some selling pressure so they may have bought themselves some breathing room. If their earnings were looking strong, they may be filtering out good news beforehand to smooth the rise. If their earnings were looking bad, they may try to support the stock as much as possible up to earnings date to have a higher platform to fall from.

Any other theories?

re: <<Also, yesterday we had a big block of Nov 15 calls traded and today we had 3105 Nov 16 contracts traded in 24 trades. What do you all make of this? >>

Could it be the same buyer? 2000 Nov 15s and maybe 3000 Nov 16s is a huge position. Who was the seller/writer of these options? I love intrigue!

There's a strategy at work here by someone.

Yes, the stock has been dropping for no fundamental reason but there IS a reason.

>> Also, yesterday we had a big block of Nov 15 calls traded and today we had 3105 Nov 16 contracts traded in 24 trades. What do you all make of this? Did someone sell Nov 16 calls to cover today's 1$ rise or is someone buying on the upswing? If the latter, why didn't they buy yesterday at a cheaper price?

They did buy at a cheaper price. Most of those Nov 16 traded at 2pm and traded below yesterday's close $1.45.

Try the link below. It may not work tomorrow.
