Just logged on and we got a NR out on SVB Donner Minerals Ltd DML Shares issued 31,689,657 1998-09-23 close $0.38 Wednesday Sep 23 1998 Also Layfield Resources Inc (LAY) Also Oromin Explorations Ltd (OME) Also NDT Ventures Ltd (NDE) Also Cypress Minerals Corp (CYP) Mr. Harvey Keats reports South Voisey Bay Project Progress Report Drilling resumed on Sept. 8, 1998 to test recently defined pulse EM geophysical targets on the North Gabbro. A total of seven holes has been completed since drilling resumed, all of which have encountered what is interpreted to be a regionally extensive southeasterly trending layer of blanket mineralization containing thin intervals of semi-massive to massive sulphides, similar to those previously reported at the base of the gabbro unit. The pulse EM survey, which is approximately 55 per cent complete, continues to be carried out over the core area of the north and south gabbros. Recent geological mapping carried out over the eastern side of the South Voisey Bay project has identified additional gabbro outcrop, some of which straddles the suture, approximately 9km further east than was previously identified. This discovery has focused attention on the suture environment and has led to expansion of the exploration program to include claims covering the suture on the eastern side of the project. The suture is a major tectonic boundary between the Nain geological province to the east and the Churchill geological province to the west; the deposits at Inco's Voisey's Bay project straddle this structure. The South Voisey Bay project straddles the north-south suture for a distance of approximately 35km. Donner has an interest in all claims covering this potentially important area. These interests include Donner wholly owned claims and joint ventures with 1) Cypress Minerals Corp., 2) NDT Ventures Ltd./Oromin Explorations Ltd. and 3) NDT/Layfield Resources Inc. Donner together with its joint venture partners will be drilling a number of widely spaced holes on properties along the suture in order to expand the geological model.
