>>The Y2K scare is an industry generated farce.<<

I saw Alan Greenspan appearing before the Senate budget committee tonight on CSPAN. He doesn't think Y2k is a farce. In fact, he sounded worried to me. Though the Fed will have fixed all their programs, he can't be sure there will not be surprises. Furthermore he said there is a greater risk that exchanges with foreign banks will not work. Interesting note, he used to be a programmer and said he put some of the bugs into programs himself, never dreaming that the programs would still be around in Y2k. He claims the Fed is printing very large amounts of extra money, just in case people start withdrawals as Y2k approaches.
