Oh, you want find me defending Clinton's actions and denying his culpability in this whole matter. But the excruciating and gratuitous detail in Starr's report betrayed an undeniable partisan bias--an attempt to cast the president in a negative light above and beyond merely proving that he was a liar. That he was willing to sink to this gutter level to get at the president--violating his own views on pornography--shows just how partisan Starr was, how utterly determined he was to please his patrons and rightwing backers. Clinton's a compulsive Yuppie who needs a 12-step program. Starr's a would-be theocrat who should be hanging out with his ideological soulmates, the Taliban.
